European Societies publishes sociological research from or about Europe. The journal is the flagship journal of the European Sociological Association and shares its aims and objectives. European Societies contributes to plurality and openness within the discipline of sociology. We observe ethical standards in academic independence and conduct the doubly-anonymous review of submitted manuscripts.While being a generalist sociology journal that is open to all sociological research, European Societies has a focus on the socio-economic and socio-political challenges that European societies face and on all aspects of European social life and socioculture. We welcome all sociological methods and all approaches in sociological theory. Articles may approach their topics in a historical perspective. Comparative research involving Europe as a whole or specific European countries makes for a significant part of our published articles. We also welcome comparisons with societies beyond Europe.
