Health Systems promotes the idea that all aspects of health and healthcare delivery can be viewed from a systems perspective. The belief of the journal is that health and healthcare systems are characterized by complexity and interconnectedness, where "everything affects everything else".The principal aims of Health Systems is to bring together critical health operations and IT research and commentary, and to provide a forum that welcomes diverse viewpoints and research approaches.
