The Australian Journal of Politics & History, established in 1955, is an international peer-reviewed journal publishing original, high-quality research addressing significant problems of interest to those working in the fields of history, political science, and related disciplines with a particular focus on Australia. It publishes articles that explore the intersection between Australian politics and history, including social, cultural economic, and policy history. This includes Australia's relationship with the wider world. The journal also encourages papers that consider theoretical and conceptual issues in history and political science that are of relevance and interest to the Australian community of scholars. The focus on Australia extends to an interest in research relating to Aotearoa New Zealand and our neighbours in the Asia-Pacific region. While focusing on Australia and its immediate region, the journal encourages authors, where appropriate, to consider the implications of their findings for other jurisdictions. We welcome submissions from Australian and international scholars working within the journal's scope.
