The Journal of Community Psychology (JCP) is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal focused on research that investigates individual-context relations related to human development and psychosocial functioning. The broader context in which individuals live is of key importance. The context examined may include the family, neighborhood, societal institutions, online communities (e.g., social media), etc. Manuscripts also should address how the context(s) in which individuals are embedded are associated with psychological health and/or development. Manuscripts focused on social justice, social issues (e.g., substance abuse, homelessness, immigration), diversity (in regard to gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, SES, etc.), empowerment, resiliency, and the influence of online communities on psychosocial health are especially welcome. Manuscripts may cover community-based empirical research, program evaluation, or intervention research. JCP embraces the use of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods.
