Since 1985, the Journal of Gambling Studies has aimed to advance knowledge across the broad spectrum, from risk taking to gambling problems. As a leading international and interdisciplinary platform, the journal focuses on publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed empirical research that address critical issues related to the epidemiology, prevention, assessment, and treatment of gambling disorder. The journal publishes an array of articles including original studies, systematic reviews, pre-registered reports, and timely commentary. We are particularly interested in contributions that provide new insights into responsible gambling/safe gambling, risk and protective factors, co-occurring problems and disorders, and the social determinants of health. Our goal is to foster research that informs policy, practice, and interventions while contributing to a global understanding of gambling.
