该刊报道内容涉及中草药生药炮制、药用植物化学成分分析及有效成分提取、药用机理研究、临床、制剂、临床用药、野生资源调查及栽培驯化等方面。该刊旨在反映世界范围内药用植物领域的最新研究进展，为药用植物研究领域的科学家提供国际层面上的交流平台。为扩大中医、中药在国际上的影响，该刊特在中国设立编辑部，征集中国科学家在药用植物领域的研究论文。Medicinal Plant (ISSN 2152-3924), founded by Wu Chu (USA-China) Science and Culture Media Corporation in 2010, is a bimonthly medicinal academic journal published and approved by the Library of Congress of the United States of America.
