Ethnoarchaeology is a double-anonymized, peer-reviewed scholarly journal that publishes original research conducted in an ethnographic or experimental context for application to archaeology. Articles may incorporate original archaeological research informed by the ethnographic or experimental study. Today, ethnoarchaeology and experimental archaeology are fields that encompass diverse perspectives, contributing to archaeological theory and method, archaeology as anthropology, history, and science, archaeology as the study of contemporary society, and epistemological debates in the sciences and humanities. The journal publishes significant case studies and review articles that contribute to these ways of understanding material culture and the archaeological record, past, present, and future. Contributions that document heritage resources and address significant issues of tangible and intangible heritage are welcome. Appropriate submissions engage the relevant ethnographic research and elaborate on the archaeological relevance of the findings. Ethnoarchaeology encourages submissions emphasizing the importance of ethnography, traditional knowledge, and community-based approaches to the construction of archaeological knowledge. The language of the journal is English. The scope of the journal is international.
